Development Studies Foundation (DSF) is established by the community from Development Studies Magister Program of Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. This group consists of lecturers, researchers and students, with research focus on innovation in development.The establishment of DSF t is to become intermediary institution between knowledge development from university or others institution to society. DSF The DSF community has had research collaboration with international development agencies, government, local NGOs and communities in the fields of bio diesel, energy, knowledge system, waste management and other public, science and technological policies. This community has experience in research about biodiesel founded by ITB, Research on Knowledge System by IDRC, research on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle by DIKTI and Environmental Sustainability Index by Ministry of Environment.
According to Central Bureau of Statistics (2008), most of Indonesian people work in agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishery sectors.
